Snow is such an incredibly beautiful thing, but that beauty tends to come with blaringly bright and reflective light... and it's a pain to take good pictures in. This particular morning, right after a light snowstorm, I was out with my camera while there was still a light cloud cover that dimmed the intense sunlight. Umi, one of our Icelandic ewes, was out exploring in the snow, and the contrast of her dark face with the powdery white snow sitting on top made an incredibly eye-catching sight. Suddenly even more grateful for the cloud cover, I snapped several pictures of her. This is my favorite image from that set!
